You float in a void--darkness around you, above, below, in every direction, nothing. You stand on nothing, you even breathe nothing. But you do not feel in danger, you are not suffocating. You are simply existing in… Nothing.

Crow
A path, subtle at first but growing in light, stretches before you. As you walk, it solidifies. Made of light, and both precarious in the abyss and reassuring. In the way of dreams you are one moment walking the void and the next you’re in a vast library. Or at least at the entrance to one. Through the glass doors you can see stacks of books, rooms of books, but at the entrance is a high tech machine asking you for your name, password, and ID. There’s a place with a handprint you could put your hand in.
Re: Crow
[ Crow is not well-suited for a void, but somehow this kind of calm feels fitting for the person it's meant to represent. Still, he doesn't stick around for long-- he sees the path and travels along... to a library apparently.
Well, that also suits Rean. ]
Let's see how this goes...
[ It's way more high-tech than anything Crow is used to but he can figure out that handprint part easily enough so he puts his hand on it. ]
Re: Crow
Re: Crow
Not bad at all.
[ And then he puts the pass in the slot at the door. ]
Re: Crow
You are let in!
It seems that the library itself is mainly made out of rooms. Through the glass doors in every room are endless shelves of books. Many, many of the rooms have red lights and “no entry” on them. But a few are lit green. A sign informs you this is the archive. And a computer terminal might help you pull up the references you want without having to search through every room. There are such categories as “feelings”, “people”, and “memories” though many of the categories of memories are marked red, no access.
You can also print yourself a pass to a different destination from here, though every destination is blank, you’ll have to fill that in yourself.

Towa
You blink. And then you are not in darkness. Well. Not in the same darkness. This is a more natural darkness. The darkness of underground. The darkness of caverns and shrines. An eerie light makes it possible to see the carved stone walls. In front of you is a great door. Too big and heavy for a small girl like you to hope to move. There are no devices or latches either.
You should give up.
The voice comes from everywhere, even within your mind.

[Towa blinks, adjusting her eyes to the new darkness. She should give up-- she's heard it before. From others, from herself... it's a familiar sound in her head.
She won't though.
Her hand touches the door gingerly. Brute force won't get her anywhere, but is it possible to make out anything on the door or is it bare?]

Which means turning her attention to the layout of the rest of the cave. Is there another path?]

Dusk
You float in a void--darkness around you, above, below, in every direction, nothing. You stand on nothing, you even breathe nothing. It presses in on you, it confines you, it enters your nose and mouth and pours and infects your blood, it fills your lungs, it suffocates you in nothing. It drowns your thoughts.
Who are you? What are you?
You are a curse.
You are a tool.
You are--
???

Re: Dusk
[THIS IS TERRIBLE WITH CONTEXT, SO JUST EXTRA TERRIBLE.]
[His heart is racing, his breathing is heavy, and he's not fully sure he's choking on void, or his own breath because it's hard to focus on the panic that's trying to grip his heart.]
You're fine, this is fine, you can deal with this, just need to focus. Calm down, calm down, calm down and look for a solution, there might be one if you can just see-
[Except he can't see. It's all dark and it's hard to move, and it's like being locked in his armor and this is fine this is fine this if fine-]
[THIS ISN'T FINE-]
Re: Dusk
Nothing is fine. You certainly aren't fine. You feel something burning in your veins, anger and malice and power. Like warfare and hate and violence distilled into an essence, a drug corrupting your soul.]
Re: Dusk
[Hates the Counselor, hates the Director, hates Temple, hates them trapping him, torturing for things that weren't his fault-]
[But the thing about his hate is its oddly stabilizing. Angry Agent Washington does not rage, he plans, cold and cruel, because when he hates, death is too simple an option.]
[He can't die. He WON'T die, he eon't give them the satisfaction-!]

80H
You are still alone, but the nothing has become something. A beach. You may not recognize it but it’s a lovely strand south of Ordis. No monsters, just the lazy lap of waves and cry of gulls. There’s some fishing gear, if you want to cast a line. Beautiful shells dot the sand. And the water looks peaceful and perfect for a swim.
Away from the beach the sand stretches back into the void. But in front of you the water seems to stretch to the horizon. What might be under the waves? Or what treasures might you find on the shore? Even just relaxing in the sunlight might be considered a treasure.

Your own voice says behind you. In the void.

Slowly the feeling of void becomes the warm weight of a blanket, the soft firmness of a mattress. You’re in a fluffy, soft bed. Is there anyone you expect to see when you open your eyes? Anyone you want to see?
