Ogre: How's your day been?

sanguine: not great
sanguine: oh but i did find out what my real name is

Ogre: Really?
Ogre: I'm sorry it wasn't great. Was it a bad memory?

sanguine: it

Ogre: Someone else remembered you?

sanguine: yeah
sanguine: i've been meaning to bring it up but it's kind of hard because like
sanguine: so remember that time i remembered being a kid and exchanging gifts with a friend?
sanguine: that guy's here except he wants nothing to do with me
sanguine: and then he remembered trying to kill me?
sanguine: anyway, that's how i found out my name

Ogre: Holy shit.
Ogre: Is that how your day's been?

sanguine: i mean, i kinda glossed over the part where he had a breakdown live about how upset he was about the memory
sanguine: there were lots of pretty angry faces going on
sanguine: ....still don't know why he wanted to kill me back then
sanguine: but yeah basically

Ogre: Jeez.
Ogre: That sounds like a lot.
Ogre: Are you okay?
Ogre: Is he okay?

sanguine: yeah it's a lot
sanguine: i'm okay
sanguine: he is uh.... i'm working on figuring out what to do with that
sanguine: but i'll figure something out
sanguine: in the meantime, wanna know my real name?

Ogre: Yeah absolutely.

sanguine: it's tatsuya suou
sanguine: probably gonna stick with sanguine for now but there it is

Ogre: I'll keep calling you Sanguine though if you want, but I'm glad you told me. I'm really happy to know.

sanguine: remind me to tell you in person sometime
sanguine: i really wanted to share it with you
sanguine: i do wanna switch over someday, but i think i'd like to remember it for myself first. if that makes sense?

[ There's a brief pause, and then: ]

sanguine: hey phoenix?

Ogre: It makes sense! I'll call you whatever you want until then.
Ogre: What is it?

[ Sanguine is typing...

Eventually, the message sends. ]

sanguine: i know there's something you're not saying about that altercation you got into because i know you aren't the kind of guy to get shaken up that easily over a fight
sanguine: and i won't force you to say anything you aren't comfortable with
sanguine: but i just want to say if you're ever up for it, i'm always willing to listen
sanguine: that's all.

[It's a bit of a pause before he starts typing a reply.]

Ogre: I know.
Ogre: I'm sorry. I didn't mean to worry you or anything.
Ogre: I just don't know how to say it without sounding worrying, either.
Ogre: I don't want it to be a big deal

sanguine: i'd rather worry about you honestly
sanguine: will it help if i promise to try not to make a big deal out of whatever it is?

Ogre: That would be great, actually.

sanguine: then it's my solemn promise to you

[Not that Sanguine can see it but, he's smiling a little at his phone, fond and melancholy.]

Ogre: Thanks. You're the best.
Ogre: So I guess

Ogre: So someone kind of almost raped me but they didn't and I'll be fine and I have a lot of new kind of intense neck scars.

[ Hmm. That's so much worse than anything he'd imagined. But he made a promise and he's a man of his word.

sanguine: does this mean i should lay off of kissing your neck for a while?

[ It's a weak attempt at humour but he's trying to help Phoenix feel better at least? ]
